Gold-and-ivory Macedonian ceremonial shield with male and female device on the outer side. Probably the male figure is Achilles, and the female an Amazon. Shield is decorated with golden Macedonian eight rays suns, and Meander, also known as Greek key. Found in the Tomb of Philip II of Macedon at Aigai, present-day Vergina, Central Macedonia, Greece. Third quarter of 4th century.
